Occupational Summary
The Duke Office of Physician-Scientist Development (OPSD),
administratively positioned within the Duke School of Medicine's
Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), provides
services and programs to support physician-scientists,
physician-scientist trainees, and students. The mission of OPSD is
empowering physician-scientists to launch successful research
careers. In addition to initiatives developed by OPSD under the
direction of the Associate Dean of Physician-Scientist Development
and executive staff, the OPSD coordinates multiple programs and
initiatives falling under several grants, such as the Burroughs
Wellcome Fund Physician Scientist Institutional Award, the COVID-19
Fund to Retain Clinical Scientists collaborative, and various NIH
awards.
Reporting to the Director of the Office of Physician-Scientist
Development under the Associate Dean of Physician-Scientist
Development, the Senior Program Coordinator will provide
operational and programmatic oversight of research education and
training initiatives within the purview of the OPSD, with special
emphasis on summer undergraduate and medical student research
programs, post-baccalaureate programs, mentorship programs, and
junior faculty support programs. The OPSD Senior Program
Coordinator will be responsible for handling multiple tasks and
coordinate processes related to the recruitment, selection,
matching, and tracking of students and trainees in OPSD-sponsored
programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills
generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree
program.
Experience
Work requires three years of experience in program administration
or OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE involving academic, instructional or counseling
activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and
implement a variety of program activities and events.
