SummaryThe Cardiac Cath/IR Lab Tech provides services in the
Cath/IR Lab Department. Works cooperatively and effectively with
staff and other administrative support personnel in maintaining the
standards of professional behavior. Must provide skill and talent
that will add value to the facility. Performs duties in the
department in compliance with policies and procedures of the
hospital, regulations or applicable regulatory agencies. Performs
other duties as assigned.

the PositionDiagnostic viewing of coronary and peripheral
arteriesIntravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)Revascularization of
coronary and peripheral arteriesPercutaneous Transluminal Coronary
Angioplasty (PTCA)StentingPeripheral AtherectomyInsertion of
Temporary and Permanent PacemakersMechanical and Pharmacological
ThrombolysisRight Heart CatherizationInsertion of Swan-Ganz
cathetersInsertion of Intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)Insertion,
removal, exchange, declots of hemodialysis cathetersInsertion of
PICC linesInsertion of nephrostomy tubes, g-tubes, biliary
drainsInsertion of Pleurx
cathetersKyphoplastyVertebroplastyMonitoring and documentation of
hemodynamic status intraprocedure.Maintains sterile field. Safely
prepares and labels all the medications on the sterile field,
continually accounts for number and location of instruments,
sharps, sponges to prevent retained foreign objects. Operates and
maintains fluoroscopy equipment.Other tasks and duties as
assigned.Minimum EducationHigh School Graduate or GED equivalent is
required.Graduate of Radiology Technology program (RT-R), or
Graduate of a Paramedic Program. -Certifications/LicensesRadiology
Technologist (R) registration or Paramedic license is required upon
hire. -Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the
American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire.Acute
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained through the
American Heart Association (ACLS) is required within 6 months of
employment. -Required SkillsCritical thinking skills, decisive
judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. -EEOC
