Children's Health Center -who will embrace our mission of

Available for Eligible Candidates -Department Profile:The
Children's Health Center (CHC) is a pediatric ambulatory clinic
providing care to children and their families in more than 25
different specialties and includes an outpatient infusion center. -
We are currently looking for a nurse leader who can guide our
talented nursing team in delivering exemplary care to each
patient.A leader in this role will partner with another Nurse
Manager of Operations as well as an Assistant Nurse Manager. The
Children's Health Center Nurse Managers are supported in dual
reporting to an Administrative Director and a Clinical Operations
Director (RN). Responsibility and oversight will be tailored to the
candidate's experience and specialty background (i.e oncology vs
non-oncology). Staff reporting to this leader will be
multidisciplinary and diverse in role. Specialties in the CHC
include, but are not limited to:
- Hematology/Oncology
- Transplant/Cellular Therapy
- Allergy/Immunology
- Solid Organ Transplant
- Surgical specialties
- GI
- Cardiology
- Infectious Disease
- Endocrinology
- Neurology - -The right individual for this role will:
- Have demonstrated leadership experience through prior
management, team lead or charge nursing roles.
- Possess a willingness to be flexible to meet the changing needs
of our patients, their families, and our outstanding team.
- Collaborate effectively with all members of our
multi-disciplinary team.
- Show creativity in thinking about how to solve operational
problems. - -Work Hours & Shifts:Full-Time, 40 hours per week -Job
Summary:
- Manage and -coordinate patient care and personnel needs.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory health care
services, programs, and activities.
- Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to,
hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, and
scheduling.
- Collaborate in the development, implementation and expansion of
learning opportunities and skill development.
- Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective and efficient
nursing care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs
across the continuum.
- Communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and
departments with a focus on access and strategic growth.
- Promote education for patients, patient families and the
community; participate in direct patient care activities as a
targeted strategy for role modeling or information gathering.
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues within Duke Children's to
promote optimal utilization of nursing resources among the various
clinics.
- Identify clinical operational needs; manage equipment and
supplies and monitor equipment maintenance.
- Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure
optimal patient comfort, safety, and compliance with various
regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate to determine fiscal requirements; submit budgetary
recommendations, including necessary nursing personnel and patient
care materials necessary for the provision of care.
- Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the
organization; promote effective communication skills to include,
but not limited to problem solving, assertiveness, and support for
team members, feedback, active listening, and conflict resolution.
Develop and implement processes to enhance clinic operations and
practices for ongoing quality improvement.
- Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and
procedures.
- Perform other related duties.
- Recruit, retain and develop top nursing talent. -Knowledge,
Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
- 3 years of nursing experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required. -Desired Skills and
Qualifications:
- MSN preferred.
- Prior management experience, specifically within an outpatient
setting, highly preferred. This can include extensive charge nurse
or team lead experience.
- Clinical quality management and service management skills
- Orientation, accountability, planning, prioritization, and time
management
- Problem solving and innovation
- Knowledge of budget and financial concerns
- Active listening and effective communication
- Teambuilding, conflict resolution, and management

- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements including North
Carolina Nurse Practice Act -Licensure, Certification or
Registration Required:
- Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing
as a registered professional nurse OR current compact RN licensure
to practice in the state of North Carolina required.
