Job Description:
Duties: Provides technical guidance on the design and
implementation of complex databases that support core recordkeeping databases
and applications. Supports and maintains multifaceted Oracle
environments within different patch set levels and operating systems for
commodity servers and engineering systems. Provides technical oversight on
the development and implementation of new technology infrastructures
built on Real Application Clusters, Dataguard, and GoldenGate. Primary Responsibilities: • Documents design, operational procedures, and standards for
highly complex/business critical databases. • Tests and implements new design features for general use. • Defines and evaluates database maintenance tools and build processes. • Establishes performance tuning criteria and methods in
coordination with internal and external technical resources. • Provides technology strategic roadmap for technology
lifecycle management. • Designs, evaluates, and executes highly complex database performance and functionality testing. • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex
projects. • Provides technical evaluation estimates on technology
initiatives. • Develops and maintains policies, procedures, and techniques
in order to minimize future incident occurrence. • Defines requirements and operational procedures to ensure
network integrity, physical protection, and authorized access to the
network and applications. • Develops business cases to justify information security architecture initiatives. • Enforces storage management standards. • Defines the scope of change and impact to other
interfaces. • Develops high level architecture design for the
enterprise. • Mentors junior team members. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5)
years of experience in Oracle database administration; Or, alternatively,
a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics,
Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the
job offered or three (3) years of experience in Oracle database
administration. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)
performing Oracle 12c and 11g administration and GoldenGate replication on
Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) for high availability systems, using
Data Guard and RMAN for disaster recovery and backup strategy; DE
performing query tuning and troubleshooting real-time mission critical database
applications using Oracle Enterprise Manager version 13c and 12c,
identifying bottlenecks, and providing performance tuning and
optimization recommendations based on Oracle AWR, ASH, and SQLT reports and
system diagnostics; DE performing database virtualization and
automation using Delphix, Jet Stream, and Oracle ZFS; building continuous
integration and continuous deployment pipeline across different systems, using
Nexus, artifacts, Liquibase and uDeploy; DE performing design
evaluations for migration strategies for on-premise physical databases to cloud
and virtual infrastructure migrations for multiple cloud hosting vendors,
